Humane Society Drive

Sun Grove Montessori School recently hosted the Humane Society Drive. During this event, students and their family’s from Primary through Middle School donated items to the Humane Society of St. Lucie County. These item ranged from dog food to paper towels. The Middle School collected and delivered the items to the Humane Society. This is the first time that Sun Grove hosted this event, though there are plans to continue this event in futures years.

We had a wonderful time helping out the Humane Society of St. Lucie County. In addition, the Middle School students and Staff are looking into an opportunity to be able to transport some elementary friends to the facility in order to institute a reading program, one where students will be able to sit and read to dogs. This program is beneficial to both the dogs and the students, because the dogs receive socialization and the students are able to practice their reading skills. We at Sun Grove look forward to participating with the Humane Society for future  fundraisers!
